Excess and income-protection benefit / wait period apply to the whole policy for now (one value, not per cover).

What this is. The SortMe Protection tab for PRD-79 (ClickUp 86d3gz5nj): the Add/Edit Policy form's insurance type becomes a multi-select, so one policy can be an insurance bundle covering several types at once. Rebuilt on the production-faithful Protection screen template — it carries every region of the real page and adds the feature on top.

Form (Concept A). Field order by importance: provider → what it covers (multi-select, cover amount inline per type) → total premium + cadence → renewal → documents (visible) → collapsed "Policy number, status & more details". One type behaves like today; the premium label reads "Total premium amount" only for 2+. Save is disabled until at least one cover and a provider are set.
Per-cover renewal. Renewal / expiry is per cover in the data model, defaulting to one shared date applied to all covers, with a one-tap "Set a different date per cover" toggle (and "Use one date for all covers" to revert). Month + Year selects — never a native date input.
Documents. Kept visible and optional (several files allowed) — high-value to us, and the backend already stores many documents per policy.
Bundle card. One seeded policy (Partners Life) renders as a bundle: stacked type icons, an "N covers" badge, and each cover with its own amount. Single-type cards are unchanged (no regression). The summary bar counts a bundle as one policy and reconciles premiums.
Addressable states (?screen=): default grid · form-empty · form-single · form-bundle · form-expiry-per-cover · form-saving · form-error · saved · edit-bundle · review-due · loading · empty.
Mobile: the grid stacks to one column and the modal fills the width with a pinned footer. The real modal is a body-portal fixed overlay (mobile-safe); the kit frame can't render position:fixed, so in the frame the overlay centres on the whole viewport — a preview artifact. Toggle Annotations for the new-behaviour / faked notes.

Faked vs real. All policies, providers and documents are hard-coded; on build they come from the user_insurance_policies API. Backend note (engineering owns the shape): the model moves from a single insurance_type string to a per-cover child (type + cover amount + renewal date) on the policy; provider, total premium, cadence, policy number, documents and status stay on the parent.
